I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
